Copper futures drop on weak demand

Copper prices fell by 1.3% to Rs 881.65 per kilogram in futures trading on Thursday as participants scaled back their positions amid subdued domestic demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, May delivery copper contracts declined by Rs 11.65 or 1.3% to Rs 881.65 per kilogram, with a trading volume of 846 lots.

Analysts linked the price drop to reduced market participation due to sluggish demand.
